The FINANCIAL — Melbourne Airport achieved 7 per cent international growth in July compared to the same period last year, to reach 774,315 international passengers.
Asia continued its growth surge with strong growth by China as well as Indonesia and Malaysia which reflected the earlier start to Ramadan celebrations. New Zealand also grew strongly with more than 16 cent compared to July 2014, according to Melbourne Airport.

Supporting Melbourne’s continuing growth, and welcomed by Melbourne Airport, was Emirates’ recent announcement to upgrade its current Dubai-Singapore-Melbourne service to A380s.

Domestically, passengers increased by 5 per cent to take domestic passengers to 2,154,079 while total passengers reached 2,928,394.
