The FINANCIAL — On the sidelines of the 34th session of the UN Human Rights Council. Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with his Danish counterpart, Anders Samuelsen.
The Danish Foreign Minister congratulated Mikheil Janelidze on the EU Council’s decision to grant Georgia visa-free travel with Europe. For his part, Mikheil Janelidze thanked the Danish Minister for his government’s strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, according to MFA of Georgia.
Mikheil Janelidze spoke about Georgia’s main priorities on its path of European integration, in particular: institutional rapprochement with the EU, the strengthening of co-operation in the area of security and preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit. Discussions also focused on the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, confidence building measures and the policy of engagement aimed at ensuring that the population in the occupied regions also benefit from cooperation with the EU. Talking points also included co-operation with NATO. Mikheil Janelidze invited Anders Samuelsen to Georgia.
