The FINANCIAL — Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Christian Vigenin.
Discussions focused on the ongoing political processes in the country, the Georgian Government’s reforms and Georgia’s tangible progress on its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path, according to MFA of Georgia.
Special attention was paid to the need to peacefully resolve the conflicts, specificially the Georgian-Russian conflict in the OSCE area and to the necessity to achieve progress on the agenda of the Geneva International Discussions. Mikheil Janelidze briefed the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative for the South Caucasus on the difficult security and human rights situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as on the steps taken by the government towards reconciliation.
Talking points also included problems relating to refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.
At the end of the meeting the importance of co-operation within the format of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
