The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Senator Tod Young as part of his visit to Washington.
The sides discussed specific issues of co-operation between Georgia and the U.S. Senator Young reaffirmed his strong support for Georgia expressing his gratitude for Georgia’s important contribution to the peacekeeping missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Minister took special note of the best practice of co-operation with the United States House of Representatives. Discussions also focused on the recent developments in the region, as well as on the security situation in the occupied territories, including Russia’s recent activities there. The Senator pledged his strong support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The sides highlighted the role of Georgia as a reliable ally of the U.S.
