The FINANCIAL — As part of the Global Coalition Ministerial Meeting, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with his Australian counterpart , Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.
The Ministers noted with satisfaction the successful bilateral co-operation between the two countries. Mikheil Janelidze expressed his gratitude for the role Australia has plaid in terms of raising awareness of Georgia in the southern Pacific region.
The Ministers spoke about the successful co-operation within the framework of international organizations, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Australian side reaffirmed his strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing his concern over the so-called referendum to be held in Tskhinvali.
While on the theme of bilateral co-operation, The Ministers spoke about the possibilities to develop economic co-operation between the two countries. The Georgian Foreign Minister updated his Australian colleague on Georgia’s investment and economic potential emphasizing the importance of the country functioning as a hub between Europe and the east region.
The Ministers stressed the necessity of exchanging high-level visits. Mikheil Janelidze invited his colleague to Georgia.
