The FINANCIAL — Georgia is determined to come closer to Europe and follow the European course” – Chairman of the Bundestag’s Committee on Foreign Affairs Norbert Röttgen said following his meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.
Discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Georgia and Germany, as we as on the country’s European integration agenda. Special attention was also paid to the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories.
According to Norbert Röttgen, Georgia is developing both politically and economically. The country has made important progress in terms of implementing the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan and may be granted visa free travel to the EU already in 2016.
As part of his visit to Germany, Mikheil Janelidze today will hold meeting within the Bundestag, Ministry of Internal Affairs and various think tanks, according to MFA of Georgia.
