The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foregn Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi.
The sides noted with satisfaction the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries underlining that Georgia-Japan bilateral relations have become remarkable in many areas, according to MFA of Georgia.
Mikheil Janelidze highlighted Japan’s considerable financial and technical contribution towards the development of Georgia, as well as Japan’s firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
The sides spoke about the successful co-operation between the two countries in international formats and the importance of bilateral high-level visits.
The Georgian Foreign Minister brought to the attention of his Japanese counterpart Georgia’s successes in Euroepan and Euro-Atlantic integration process. The sides exchanged views over the possibilities of developing co-operation in various areas. The Japanese side expressed its cose interest in Georgia’s business and investment opportunities, including its involvement in international transport projects and cooperation in the energy sector.
The Japanese State Minister emphasized that Georgia has reputation for being a successful partner internationally that provides a good basis for the further development of co-operation.
