The FINANCIAL — The Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who paid an official visit to Georgia on 17 and 18 July.
The sides discussed important issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral co-operation with focus on the possibilities of developing relations in the areas of trade and economy, education and culture. It was underlined that the United Arab Emirates is one of Georgia’s key partners in terms of investments, according to MFA of Georgia.
This year marks the 25th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. Janelidze said that bilateral relations have greatly progressed since then.
At the end of the meeting the sides signed two documents: Agreement for the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments and Visa Waiver Agreement for Holders of Diplomatic/Service Passports.
Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers held a joint press conference.
Within the framework of his visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates will hold meetings with President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
