The FINANCIAL — Within the framework of the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with the newly appointed NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller.
The Minister congratulated Rose Gottemoeller on her assumption of office as NATO Deputy Secretary General and wished her success in her future activities, according to MFA of Georgia.
The sides highlighted the intense co-operation in the area of Georgia’s integration with NATO. In this light, the NATO Deputy Secretary General highly appraised Georgia’s fulfillment of its commitments under the Annual National Programme and the substantial progress the country has made in the implementation of the Substantial Package. NATO’s readiness to support the ongoing reforms in Georgia and contribute to the further strengthening of the country’s defence capability.
Georgia’s important contribution to ensuring international security and Georgia’s participation in the Resolute Support Mission was also highlighted. Discussions also focused on the security situation in the Black Sea region. The Minister provided the NATO Deputy Secretary General with information regarding the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and thanked NATO for its firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Talking points also included NATO-Georgia cooperation agenda for the next year, which, according to the sides, will contribute to the strengthening of practical cooperation with the Alliance and Georgia’s integration with NATO.
