The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani held on the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly.
Mikheil Janelidze provided the Secretary General with information on the Georgian Government’s institutional reforms, as well as on the steps taken towards the further improvement of business and investment environment. The sides emphasised Georgia’s transit potential and the government’s plans to make additional investments in the development of multimodal transport corridor.
The Georgian side noted with satisfaction the Gulf States’ dynamic business relations, as well as their increasing interest in Georgia’s tourist potential. The sides spoke extensively about the security challenges in their respective regions emphasizing that the full compliance with the universal norms and principles of international law is major instrument for resolution of the ongoing conflicts.
The sides agreed to continue a dialogue by exchanging visits and to promote the Gulf States’ interest in Georgia’s business and tourism environment, according to MFA of Georgia.
