The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly, according to MFA of Georgia.
The two Ministers discussed important issues relating to bilateral co-operation emphasizing the strategic co-operation between Georgia and Turkey as strategic partners. They positively appraised the establishment of the strategic partnership format between the two countries the first meeting of which was in Ankara, in July of 2016.
Mikheil Janelidze and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed their readiness to further develop bilateral co-operation between the two countries. The Turkish Foreign Minister thanked Georgia for its support of the Turkish people and the democratically elected government of Turkey. He reaffirmed Turkey’s unequivocal support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its Euro-Atlantic integration. The sides highlighted the successful co-operation of the two countries within the international organisations. The Georgian Foreign Minister invited his Turkish colleague to Georgia.
