The FINANCIAL — Within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Astana, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with the Kazakh Mazhilis (lower house of Parliament) Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin and the Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Kassym Tokayev.
The sides gave high appraisal to the inter-parliamentary co-operation and expressed their readiness to intensify relations at the level of parliamentary committees and in the format of working groups, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Kazakh side expressed its interest in Georgia’s successful reform experience in the areas healthcare, public services, traffic police, etc.
The Georgian delegation highlighted Kazakhstan’s role in promoting the regional development and economic prosperity. Particular attention was paid to Kazakhstan’s positive role in ensuring regional and international peace and stability based on the respect for the principles of international law.
The Kazakh Mazhilis Speaker positively appraised Georgia’s constitutional reform and wished Georgia success in the effective implementation of a new model of governance.
The sides expressed their readiness to facilitate people-to-people contatcs and cultural links reaffirming their interest in the development of cooperation in the area of education.
