Mikheil Janelidze has singled out three main aspects for peaceful resolution of the conflict

The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze spoke about the Georgian Government’s three main aspects for peaceful resolution of the conflict. 

According to Mikheil Janelidze, the Georgian Government’s efforts are, first of all, directed towards ensuring that international organizations adopt respective resolutions holding Russia accountable for its actions. This will contribute to resolution of the conflict within the legal framework.

Another aspect of the Government’s policy, according to Mikheil Janelidze, is to conduct with the Russian Federation such type of a dialogue which would exclude any possibility of conflict escalation.

Mikheil Janelidze said that the development of Georgia’s democratic institutions, economic reforms, integration with the European and Euro-Atlanti structures would serve the fulfilment of the third task of the Government’s policy – process of reintegration, reconciliation policy and the unification of communities torn apart, according to MFA of Georgia.

Accoridng to the Minister, as a result of the steps taken by Georgia, the international community is fully mobilized to ensure that the peaceful resolution of the conflict is achived in full compliance with the principle of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
