The FINANCIAL — EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said following the EU Foreign Affairs Council on June 13 that EU foreign ministers had discussed EU-Georgia visa liberalisation, and “it was clear from all Member States that there is no doubt that Georgia fulfilled all the benchmarks”, she said.
The EU’s foreign policy chief was speaking to reporters in Luxembourg at a press conference after the meeting, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.
“Obviously, this is now in the hands of the Dutch Presidency to put it on the agenda of one of the upcoming COREPERs [Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union], but there was a recognition from all Member States on the fact that Georgia has done an incredibly good work and that deserves to be recognised as soon as possible,” added Mogherini.
