The FINANCIAL — In Moldova droughts threaten to spring crops development. According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the level of soil moisture content sharply fell in May 2015, which most affected corn, sunflower seed and sugar beet areas.
According to the Hydrometeorological Service, in most raions of the country the depth of dry soil layer reached 20 cm. The following ones became the most rainless raions of the outcry Soroca, Fălești and Glodeni. In the south, the droughts threaten to the raions Ștefan Vodă, Leova, Comrat and Basarabeasca.
It is noted that in the coming days there are expected some precipitations, which are unlikely to significantly change the situation.
