The FINANCIAL — According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, in 2015 winter wheat crop to decline 25% a year due to the drought and reach the lowest rate in five years. At the same time grain quality is expected to be rather high which would allow to provide food security of the country.
According to the forecast of the Ministry, with winter wheat average yield at the level of 2.5 t/ha and planted areas of 340 thsd ha the grain crop to reach nearly 850 thsd tonnes down 250 thsd tonnes or 22.7% of the last year rate.
In particular common wheat share to be nearly 65-70% of the general production. The general crop of milling wheat to reach nearly 550-600 thsd tonnes, meanwhile for bread baking the country needs 350 thsd tonnes of grain, according to APK Inform.
