NatWest trials new system to help businesses cut processing time in half

The FINANCIAL — NatWest APtimise is the UK’s only end-to-end accounts payable software bringing together invoice automation and intelligent payments in one simple cloud solution.

Typically an SME receiving 100 invoices a month will spend more than 20 hours manually keying invoices, matching them to purchase orders, responding to supplier queries, scheduling, approving and executing payments.

APtimise cuts the time by more than half and reduces the chance of human error through manual keying as well as enabling businesses to have full control and visibility over the invoice-to-pay process, according to RBS.

Alison Rose, CEO of Commercial and Private Banking at NatWest, said: “We’re excited to be launching NatWest APtimise to businesses.

“As the UK’s biggest bank for SMEs, we feel passionate about helping them work as productively as possible.

“APtimise will help businesses reduce their admin time, cost and human error. Whether they’re NatWest customers or not, APtimise will give business owners more capacity to nurture their business and watch it grow.”

NatWest APtimise has been developed in partnership with technology partner, MineralTree, a US AP and payment automation company.

The software is currently in pilot phase and NatWest is looking for businesses (both customers and non customers) to take part ahead of the wider release – aimed for later in the year.
