The FINANCIAL — EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini yesterday announced the appointments of 19 senior appointments to EU Delegations, including new Heads of Delegation in Armenia, Jordan and the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Piotr Switalski has been appointed as Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia. He is currently Director for Policy Planning in the Council of Europe, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.
Andrea Matteo Fontana has been appointed Head of the EU Delegation to Jordan. He is currently Head of Unit in charge of Geographic Coordination for Neighbourhood East in the European Commission. He previously served in Delegations in Syria and Russia.
Ralph-Joseph Tarraf has been appointed Head of the EU Delegation to the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He is currently Germany’s Ambassador to Jordan.
The announcement follows 16 appointments on 28 July, which included Andrea Wiktorin as Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus. A further 4 appointments will be announced in due course, pending agreement from the third countries involved.
