The FINANCIAL — ProCredit Bank has launchedanewjournal to support agriculture – the first bank in Georgia to do so! The bank’s new initiative – the ProAgroJournal – is a quarterly publication covering a wide range of issues which farmers will find both interesting and useful.
Experienced and qualified agricultural experts from Georgia will work alongside representatives of ProCredit Bank to select topics and prepare articles for the journal.
Today, the consensus that agriculture is the country’s top development priority area is unanimous, but there is one of the problem– theshortage of information and modern technology. Therefore, each edition of the journal will cover useful news and new achievements. The bank hopes that discussing these issues will contribute to the development and growth of the agricultural sector.
The first edition of the journal will be distributed free to all of ProCredit Bank’s agricultural clients, and subsequent issues will be available from any branch of the bank.
ProCredit Bank has been funding the agricultural sector since 2002 –at this time no other financial institutions were willing to finance agriculture. Today, ProCredit Bank is a leader in this area with the largest high-quality agricultural portfolio in the Georgian banking sector. Notably, ProCredit Bank was the first to offer customers individual services tailored to their seasonal needs and, more importantly, transparency in relations with customers. Today, the bank has nearly 4,000 agricultural customers who are provided with competent services and excellent support by highly experienced, specially trained agribusiness advisers
“Ever since we started operating in Georgia, agriculture has been one of the key focus areas for ProCredit Bank. We have always been committed to the development of this sector as we believe it to be a major contributor to the growth of local production, which in turn is a direct stimulus for economic growth I am really pleased thatwe have the opportunity to apply the knowledge accumulated over the years of our operations in Georgia for the benefit of our customers as well as to continue our mission – fostering the development of Georgian economy,” said Dr.h.c.Sascha Ternes, General Director of ProCredit Bank Georgia.
“We welcome the new initiative of ProCredit Bank – the ProAgro Journal – which is another step in supporting the development of agriculture in Georgia. The fact that ProCredit Bank has nearly 4,000 agricultural customers clearly demonstrates the bank’s focus on agriculture, a focus that is welcomed by the public and me personally. I would like to congratulate you on the issue of this new journal and wish you every success in your efforts,” said First Deputy Agriculture Minister, Davit Galegashvili.
