The FINANCIAL — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that he had no information about the possibility of holding meeting between the Russian and Georgian Presidents in the near future, RIA Novosti news agency reported on June 9.
Speculation about possible meeting between Medvedev and Saakashvili was triggered after remarks by Georgian ambassador to Russia, Erosi Kitsmarishvili, who said on June 7 that during the top level talks in St. Petersburg on June 6 the Russian President expressed desire to hold comprehensive talks.
“I have no information, which would let me make such an announcement, that the new Russian-Georgian summit will be held in the near future,” RIA Novosti quoted Lavrov as saying.
