The FINANCIAL — DUSHANBE, One person has been killed and five others have been injured after a helicopter with foreign tourists aboard crashed in south-east Tajikistan, the republic's interior ministry said on March 9.
The helicopter with eleven tourists aboard crashed on Sunday 80 km (50 miles) east of the administrative center of Khorog, in the valley of the Gunt River, the ministry said.
The helicopter carried tourists from Austria, Switzerland, Russia, France, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain, and a translator from Tajikistan. The helicopter commander was killed while two crewmembers, the translator, the Russian and French climbers were injured, the ministry said.
An investigation is under way, the ministry said.
