The FINANCIAL — The oneworld alliance and its Brazilian member TAM Airlines are flying high at LACTE11, the biggest travel industry convention of the year in Latin America, which opened in Brazil’s São Paulo on Sunday (14 February).
oneworld is a “super host sponsor” of the event, which is organised by the Latin American Association of Events and Corporate Travel Managers (ALAGEV) and runs until Tuesday 16 February at São Paulo’s Grand Hyatt, with hundreds of top executives from across the travel, conferences and events industries throughout South America expected to attend, according to oneworld.
oneworld is one of the leading airline alliances serving the region. The alliance’s members TAM Airlines and its LATAM Airlines Group partner LAN Airlines are Latin America’s top airlines. Fellow oneworld member American Airlines is the number one international airline serving the continent while Iberia is the leading European carrier flying there.
With other oneworld members like British Airways and Qatar Airways also operating to the region, it means oneworld offers unrivalled connectivity across the continent and to and from all the places South Americans most want to visit.
oneworld will have a booth open all day, every day of LACTE11, in the Grand Foyer, hosted by senior representatives from the central oneworld team, TAM, LAN, American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific.
Delegates will be able to find out all steps the alliance and its member airlines are taking to make it easier still for travellers to connect within the region and with the rest of the world.
oneworld will also host the event’s President’s Party, reserved for guests on Monday evening.
On the final day of LACTE11, TAM will also host an exclusive lunch for guests, attended by noted economist Gustavo Loyola, who will brief delegates on the prospects for the Brazilian economy and its expected impact on business travel and the events industry.
