The FINANCIAL — Tbilisi, Salome Zourabichvili, leader of the opposition Georgia’s Way party, has left for Washington to address the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (Helsinki Commission) on February 6.
“I will report on the current situation in Georgia, on previous and forthcoming elections and what particular results we may expect [from the spring elections],” Zourabichvili told Mze television on February 4.
Vasil Sikharulidze, Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, and Matthew Bryza, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, will also participate in the Commission’s hearing entitled “Georgia in 2008: Elections or Street Politics?”
During the visit to the United States Salome Zourabichvili will hold talks with U.S. congressmen and diplomats, the press office of Georgia’s Way reported.
