The FINANCIAL — The Ukrainian state savings bank Oschadbank, ranking among Ukrainian largest commercial banks, considers taking for servicing a part of deposit accounts of individuals from Ukrprombank, one of the largest Ukrainian banks, which has been taken into provisional administration of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of Oschadbank citing Oschadbank Governor Anatolii Hulei.
According to the statement, the state savings bank considers taking over 1 million deposit accounts of individuals for servicing from Ukrprombank.
"This concerns over one million accounts of nearly 450,000 individual depositors," the press service quoted Hulei as saying.
Oschadbank holds consultations with the Finance Ministry, the National Bank, and the provisional administration at Ukrprombank, according to the statement.
As for the terms required for the procedure of transfer of deposit accounts from Ukrprombank to Oschadbank, Hulei did not give specific terms. He only said that the procedure can last up to six months.
The governor of the state savings bank expects a decision on the transfer of deposit accounts from Ukrprombank to Oschadbank to come out by the end of August.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the National Bank of Ukraine has proposed the Cabinet of Ministers to transfer liabilities of Ukrprombank before individual depositors to Oschadbank if the recapitalization of Ukrprombank fails.
