The FINANCIAL — According to online magazine Civil Georgia, Ilia II, the Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, has again called on the opposition and authorities for resumption of a dialogue.
Speaking in his Sunday sermon, Ilia II said that opposition’s decision to end hunger strike on March 25 after his appeal had helped to defuse tensions. He, however, also stressed that he had also called on the authorities to undertake steps that would help to unite the society.
“Categorical thinking, as well as when a person thinks that only he is right is dangerous,” he said. “We should learn to listen to each other and I want to call on the authorities and the opposition once again to listen to each other.”
