The FINANCIAL — The Director General of People’s Bank handed out food products and basic household items to 600 internally displaced families currently located at Isani Military Hospital. Giorgi Goguadze, Isani Majority Member of Parliament also attended the charity event.
There are about 2,000 internally displaced people in the hospital. They are from the following villages: Eredvi, Kurta, Achabeti, Ditsa, Mereti, Vanati, Satskheneti, Beloti, Avnevi, Nuli, Amriskhevi, Karaleti, Tkviavi, Dzevera, Shertuli, Tirznisi, Brotsleti, Arbo, Disevi, Ksuisi, Karbi.
People’s Bank has already provided a similar kind of assistance to more than 5,000 refugees and their families. The bank has helped provide necessities such as: clothing, kitchen, bedroom and hygiene products, food, medicine, etc.
Today refugees received oil, sugar, salt, milk, tomato paste, soap, detergents, washing powder, toothpaste, various kinds of cereal and milk powder.
People’s Fund, a company established by People’s Bank is actively involved in charity. They have opened a bank account which mobilizes resources for providing assistance.
“Isani Military Hospital has the largest number of IDPs, about 2,000 people, humanitarian aid is essential for them as they are facing a lot of problems which have to be solved in an organized way. With this action, People’s Bank is trying to give an example to other businesses and is appealing to them to coordinate in order to deal with the current problems.
People’s Bank periodically realizes charity actions. It has already helped more than 5,000 refugees which included 200 of our employees who worked for our branches in Tamarasheni, Kurta and Kodori. Today they and their families are refugees. People’s Bank and People’s Fund will carry on doing charity in the future. We are trying to maximally help our internally displaced population and improve their living conditions. As far as we know, there are 140 children here, among them 20-30 are newly-born babies, we brought milk powder and other necessary baby products for them. People’s Bank will always be at the people’s service,” declared the bank’s Director General Koka Goginava.
