The FINANCIAL — On 28 March – 2 April 2016, permanent representatives accredited to the UN are paying a visit to Georgia. The delegation includes the Ambassadors of Costa Rica, Fiji, Guatemala, Honduras, Malawi, Panama, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zambia. The aim of the visit is to receive information on the current situation in Georgia, reforms carried out in Georgia and the country’s economic possibilities.
Within the framework of the visit, the permanent representatives will hold meetings with members of Georgia’s legislative and executive branches, will visit the Public Service Hall and the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The delegation will also visit the EUMM’s Field Office in Mtskheta, IDPs’ settlement in Tserovani and the village of Khurvaleti adjacent to the occupation line. The permanent representatives will also visit Batumi and will hold meetings with the Government of the Adjara Autonomous Republic.
On 28 March 2016, the Ambassadors held their first meeting at the Georgian Foreign Ministry with First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, according to MFA of Georgia.
Discussions focused on the current issues of bilateral and multilateral co-operation and prospects for development of economic relations. The delegation was informed on the reforms carried out by the Government in different spheres. The Georgian side expressed its readiness to share its experience in reforms as per the interests of the permanent representatives.
