The FINANCIAL — Royal Philips Electronics has received four prizes at the Design For Asia Award (DFA) 2012 in the category Product/Industrial design.
Design For Asia recognizes companies and designers that ‘have achieved business success through good design that reflects, or has an impact on, the Asian lifestyle’. Winners for 2012 were announced in a festive ceremony on December 6 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.Silver DFA honors were given to both the Philips Arcitone spot and the PicoPix Pocket Projector. This is the fourth award in 2012 for the Philips Arcitone spot. The sophisticated LED-disc, designed and produced by Philips, creates a striking, flat source of light that avoids glare in a slim architectural profile. The PicoPix Pocket Projector, portable and playful, maximizes the latest technology in its hand-held size. As Royal Philips Electronics company said, pictures and videos can be played directly from a wide range of devices or USB-stick and the latest LED technology displays images with vibrant colours and high contrast.
DFA Merit Recognitions were awarded to the LivingColors Bloom and jointly to the PicoPix Notebook Projector* and PicoPix Multimedia Pocket Projector. The soft shaped designed LivingColors Bloom offers colored light in myriad combinations and the PicoPix Notebook Projector* and PicoPix Multimedia Pocket Projector* impressed with their elegant, intuitive design, clever technology and ease of use1.
