The FINANCIAL — Pizza has been named one of the most popular snacks of those Georgians interviewed by The FINANCIAL.
Most of those questioned said that they would be happy to taste real, Italian pizza whenever and wherever they want. “I adore Italian food and pizza is my favourite dish,” says Eka Gvinianidze, 25.
One of the most famous Italian restaurants in Tbilisi, Prego, which has existed on the local market for 10 years already, offers a real Italian dining experience and offers a wide variety of starters as well as pizza, pasta, risotto, grilled meats, fresh salads and frequently changing specials. The restaurant continues to offer different sorts of pizzas and new sorts of Italian cuisine to its customers. At the moment, people living in Tbilisi are able to get pizza 24 hourly with the help of the free delivery service Pizza Ferrari.
“I myself am a big fan of Italian cuisine, but I am especially mad for pizza, I can eat pizza and nothing else for 7 days a week. I know that it would make me fat, but I don’t care, the main point is that I get pleasure from eating pizza,” claims George Bregvadze, 22.
“People weren’t actually able to taste real Italian cuisine just a few years ago in Tbilisi, but fortunately now the situation has changed. I am a big fan of pizza and that’s why I often go to pizzerias for my lunch break,” David Bukia, 26, told The FINANCIAL.
Due to the high demand for pizza there are a number or restaurants and food delivery companies catering to the pizza craze, and Prego is there to satisfy all pizza needs. Prego has 4 restaurants and as if that’s not enough they do deliveries as well, so no matter where you are you will be able to enjoy the Italian food of your choice.
“I can say that we are fully dedicated to offering only the best to our customers, we use the finest products available, many of which are imported directly from Italy,” Nodar Baghishvili says.
About 3 months ago Pizza Ferrari opened, a service which offers customers pizza on delivery. Unfortunately at the moment they have only a small selection of modest pizzas but they have plans to expand their menu in the future. Scooters delivering pizzas with the Pizza Ferrari logo have recently become noticeable and remarkable for people living in Tbilisi. As one of the founders of Pizza Ferrari says, the new kind of pizza service is welcome in Tbilisi and the number of people demanding Ferrari pizzas is rising daily. However if you feel like having more than just a few pizzas you can always go for Prego’s delivery service. They deliver all food and drink options form their menu.
“My cousin, a few of my friends and I thought of the idea of founding Pizza Ferrari and fortunately we managed to implement this idea. At the moment what we can say is that Pizza Ferrari is quite successful and people seem to really like it. The great taste of real pizza and free delivery service 24 hours a day is attracting more and more customers,” says David Peradze, Manager of Pizza Ferrari.
“At the moment we don’t really have any serious advertisements about our pizza, we only inform our customers with the help of posters. We plan to advertise our product on TV channels and also on radio stations in the near future. We will also offer our menu to customers with the help of flyers in the nearest future.
The manager of Pizza Ferrari says that they are going to add another branch from which they will serve people living in different districts of Tbilisi more easily. They also plan to open their own bar.
“We have about 15 sorts of pizza and people are also able to order pizza with other products of their own choice. Our bakers are able to satisfy all kinds of tastes and offer the tastiest pizza in the country,” Peradze says.
“We plan to add different sorts of salads and some different products to our menu. At the moment people who order our pizza are also able to get tobacco poducts, alcohol and fizzy drinks,” David Peradze told The FINANCIAL.
According to Pizza Ferrari officials, they don’t serve corporate clients, but they plan to have tight relations with different companies in the future.
“Prego serves a large number of leading Georgian and foreign companies in Tbilisi as well as people calling to make a delivery to their home.”
“We love what we do and I guess that this helps us to be the best. If someone visits any of our restaurants or has ordered food to be delivered to them, they are most definitely going to be our repeat customers.”
“To put more fun and excitement into Prego restaurant we have club cards which offer discounts and free food and drinks.”
“About 20 people call us to order pizza every day, at the moment the results are quite promising. This is due to the taste of our pizza, low prices and 24 hour delivery accommodation. The prices for pizza start from GEL 8 and go up to GEL 27. Taking in account the quality of our products, the prices are quite acceptable,” Peradze says.
According to David Peradze they are planning to have some special discounts and offers in the future. He remembers that there have been some cases when their loyal clients have ordered only one pizza and as a gift they delivered two. They even sometimes deliver fizzy drinks for free.
“We had been open for only 3 month and yet we are really successful on the local market. People don’t yet know much about our pizza service and we plan to introduce more of them to Pizza Ferrari in the future. Pizza Ferrari is always in your service,” David Peradze says.
“The idea of opening the restaurant Prego came from Milan, Italy, where the restaurant founder was dining with his family and friends and remarked that it was a shame that there was no place like this in Tbilisi. Shortly after that the restaurant was launched,” Bagishvili says.
“Our pizza is one of the most popular dishes we offer. He says that Prego is famous for not only Italian pizza but also for Italian food. Half of our customers visit Prego for the pastas and meat products,” Bagishvili says.
“As the tastes of people change from time to time, so it is necessary to offer a wide variety of food for them to choose from. We are always offering additions on the menu to our customers. For example at the moment we have started offering mussels in white wine sauce,” Nodar Bagishvili says.
“We currently offer 49 kinds of pizza staring at GEL 11 going up GEL 25 as well as a wide variety of pasta, risotto, grilled meats, fresh salads and frequently changing specials. Prego also offers a free delivery service to its customers. The most popular pizzas are the Pepperoni and Roman pizzas,” Bagishvili says.
Bagashvili says that Prego’s chain of restaurants are quite busy places. During lunch breaks there are sometimes even no places for people to sit, that’s how full it gets. He says that quite a high number of people visit them every day in order to taste the delicious Italian cousin but most of all the pizzas.
“We currently offer and will continue to offer our customers great pizzas well in to the future and ensure that they will always be satisfied with our service,” Bagishvili says.
“We don’t see Prego as just another restaurant. We consider every visit to be a special experience where a friendly and relaxed environment meets delicious food at affordable prices.”
According to Nodar Bagishvili, Prego is going to widen its 4 branch net and plans to open one more branch in the nearest future.
