The FINANCIAL — Poland’s unemployment continued to decline in April, dropping to 11.3% because of a robust economic recovery and a seasonal rise in job supply, the country’s labor ministry said on May 7 in its preliminary data, according to Nasdaq.
Some 295,000 people were registered as unemployed, down 76,000 from a month earlier when the jobless rate reached 11.7%. A year ago Poland’s unemployment was at 13%.
Poland’s economy is expanding strongly with 3.4% growth last year and expectations of a similar rise in 2015, leading to an improved job market with steadily rising wages.
Official unemployment figures are due for release in late May.
