The FINANCIAL — Poland’s unemployment continued to decline in May, dropping to 10.8% from 11.2% a month earlier thanks to a robust economic recovery and a seasonal rise in the supply of jobs, the country’s labor ministry said on June 11 in its preliminary data, according to Nasdaq.
Labor Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak Kamysz said in the statement that the jobless rate is likely to drop below 10% during the summer.
Poland’s economy is expanding strongly with 3.6% growth in the first three months of 2015, up from 3.3% in the fourth quarter of 2014 leading to an improved job market with steadily rising wages.
Official unemployment figures are due for release in late June.
