The FINANCIAL — Prada opens its first store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, inside the prestigious The Boulevard mall.
The space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi – which has already realized projects for the Prada Group in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and all across the Middle East – covers a total area of 335 square metres on a single level and houses the women’s and men’s leather goods, accessories and footwear collections, according to Prada.
The external façade, of remarkable visual impact, blends into the mall’s modern architectural composition: a white metal curtain, flanked by the entrances, windows and light boxes, creates a refined atmosphere.
The two entrances lead to very different spaces, one dedicated to the women’s collection and one to the men’s line.
The entrance to the space devoted to women opens on an area where the leather goods and accessories collections are displayed, nestled in Prada’s iconic niches with polished steel profiles. The space is characterized by green fabric-clad walls and crystal tables and is embellished with white and black marble flooring and green velvet sofas. Coloured saffiano leather detailing defines the display counters.
The area housing the footwear collection is characterised by green fabric-clad walls with cut-in alcoves exalting the product display. Green velvet sofas and fine table arrangements enhance the elegant atmosphere.
The space devoted to men features masculine materials and finishes: Saint-Laurent marble flooring and ebony-clad walls with black metal display units hosting the leather goods, accessories and footwear collections. Wood and metal counters and green ostrich leather sofas complete the setting.
