The FINANCIAL — President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko calls on to form an efficient coalition in parliament as soon as possible.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, President’s Press Secretary Iryna Vannikova claimed this to journalists on Monday speaking about the consultations of Victor Yushchenko with political forces leaders.

I.Vannikova informed that the first round of talks has just finished, though she did not specify the political forces that took part in it.

“The President presses to resume an efficient work of the Verkhovna Rada as soon as possible and notes that the issue of electing a new speaker is one of the top-priority tasks today”, I.Vannikova stressed.

According to her, Victor Yushchenko has many times noted he would like to see a strong and responsible parliament that would work efficiently under conditions of the current economic crisis.

“Parliamentarians should determine the coalition format, which, the President is confident, must be not formal union but a really efficient majority”, the President’s Press Secretary noted.
