The FINANCIAL — Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has attended President Erdoğan’s inauguration in Ankara.
According to The Administration of the President of Georgia, at the ceremony, having been attended by more than twenty heads of state, Georgian delegation members and partners have discussed the upcoming NATO Summit. As highlighted, Turkey is a firm supporter of Georgia’s integration to the Alliance. Following the inauguration, President Erdoğan hosted an official dinner for President Margvelashvili and other heads of state visiting Ankara.
President Margvelashvili leading the Georgian delegation has left for Brussels to take part in the NATO Summit. For the first time in the history of Georgia-NATO relations, high-level meetings will be held with the participation of the heads of state that will address Georgia’s security challenges, defense capabilities and prospects for strengthening NATO-Georgia cooperation.
As part of the Summit, President Margvelashvili will hold bilateral meetings to discuss specific steps that Georgia has to take to accelerate rapprochement with the Alliance and strengthen defense capabilities.
