The FINANCIAL — The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has discussed Georgia’s constitutional reform with the monitoring committee members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), as part of their working visit to Georgia.
Conversation has touched upon constitutional amendments that were adopted couple of weeks ago, as well as the ongoing reform.
The delegation members have shown interest in how the adopted Constitution will ensure the country’s democratic development, balance system, proper functioning of state institutions, and multi-party democracy in the future, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
As the Head of Administration of the President, Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili pointed out following the meeting, the President has once again emphasized that the country has taken the path towards one-party decisions and one-party democracy.
The parties have also discussed the case of Afgan Mukhtarli. According to Mr. Abashishvili, this case is extremely alarming; as he further added, President Margvelashvili has once again noted that this case is a big shame that requires to be cleared up in the nearest future.
The meeting has also been attended by the Head of Administration of the President Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, Secretary of National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili, Advisor to the President for Foreign Affairs Mr. Tengiz Pkhaladze, Parliamentary Secretary of the President Ms. Ana Dolidze, and Advisor to the President in Human Rights and Justice Issues Mr. Kakha Kozhoridze.
