The FINANCIAL — As part of NATO Brussels Summit, Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has discussed Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic and European integration and the progress achieved with Rumen Radev, President of Bulgaria.
The meeting focused on Georgia-related topics to be raised at the Summit, including Georgia’s current security challenges and cooperation with NATO in defense.
President Margvelashvili has pointed out that Georgia’s expectations regarding the NATO Summit were primarily associated with Georgia’s participation at the highest level formats. This has already been achieved, he added.
President Margvelashvili finds it crucial that all the major topics will be raised as part of the Summit, including Georgia’s prospective integration, the Black Sea security issues and Georgia-Russia conflict. President Margvelashvili, thanking Bulgaria for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and participating in the EU Monitoring Mission, has invited President Radev to Tbilisi.
The two presidents have discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral political dialogue and friendly relations. They have also assessed economic and trade relations between the two countries. The necessity of reaching the full potential of the Black Sea was emphasized. As noted, Georgia is eager to deepen cooperation with Bulgaria for this aim, especially in the fields of transport and energy.
The meeting has been attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Minister of Defense of Georgia, Head of President Margvelashvili’s Administration, Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Georgia to NATO.
