The FINANCIAl — Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has held a meeting with journalists from the EU member states at the Presidential Palace to talk over Georgia’s current issues.
President Margvelashvili has discussed Georgia’s preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit and Georgia Support Act recently passed by the US Congress, thanking the US Congressmen for support.
The journalists have shown interest in both internal processes of the country, as well as Georgia’s role in international and regional processes. Conversation also touched upon international security issues, methods of combating active Russian propaganda and Georgia’s accession to the EU and NATO. Journalists have asked President Margvelashvili whether the Russian aggression could have been triggered by Georgia’s aspiration toward NATO. Georgia’s cooperation with Baltic States has also been one of the topics raised at the meeting.
