The FINANCIAL — As part of his official visit to Poland, the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the Marshal of the Senate of Poland, Mr. Stanisław Karczewski.
Key topics raised at the meeting are Poland’s support of Georgia’s European integration, current situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and prospects of advancing parliamentary relations between the two countries. As stated, President Margvelashvili welcomes development of parliamentary relations between the two parliaments and strengthening partnership cooperation.
As noted, parliamentary support is one of the most important components in advocating Georgia’s interests. In this regard, relations between Georgia and Parliamentary Group of Friendship, headed by Małgorzata Gosiewska has been underscored.
The parties have emphasized the importance of cooperation in multilateral parliamentary formats such as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, NATO and OSCE parliamentary assemblies. They have also discussed preparatory activities for the upcoming Eastern Partnership and NATO summits, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
Conversation also touched upon recent developments in the occupied territories of Georgia and Russian aggressive policy. President Margvelashvili has thanked representatives of the Senate for their firm and continuous support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-recognition policy.
