The FINANCIAL — President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has discussed labor safety issues with representatives of Georgian and international trade unions.
The meeting focused on the recent tragic workplace incidents, mechanisms for labor inspection to prevent such cases from happening and Georgian work labor legislation that according to President Margvelashvili requires further improvement, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
“We have discussed those activities that should be conducted to inspect unsafe working conditions and develop mechanisms to minimize risks. Our door is always open for cooperation with trade unions and our citizens, who instead of endangering their lives, should have an opportunity for the better future for their families,” President Margvelashvili said.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace has also been attended by Parliamentary Secretary of President Margvelashvili Ana Natsvlishvili, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Human Rights and Justice Issues Kakha Kozhoridze and representatives of the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation.
