President Margvelashvili Meets with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia

The FINANCIAL — The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Ara Babloyan, as a part of his official visit to Georgia.

Representatives of the President attending the meeting included the Head of the Administration Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, Secretary of the National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili and advisors. The parties have mainly discussed the prospects of further strengthening Georgia-Armenia long-term bilateral relations, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.

Delegation members have expressed readiness to establish new cooperation formats with Georgia. Conversation touched upon economic and trade relations and necessity of their further reinforcement; also, cultural ties and dynamic development of tourism. The parties have highlighted those regional projects that ensure prosperity and peace of both countries.

As noted, Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Union and the Free Trade Agreement signed between Georgia and the European Union will not interfere in opening up new opportunities for both countries.

The Parties have shown willingness to further activate Georgia-Armenia cooperation. They have also discussed the existing security environment in the region.
