The FINANCIAL — As a part of his official visit to Portugal, the President of Georgia H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has visited a private scientific organization working on bio-medical research in neurology, oncology and cardiology, the Champalimaud Foundation of Lisbon.
The center has been founded by a famous Portuguese entrepreneur and philanthropist, António Champalimaud, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
President Margvelashvili has been hosted by the Foundation’s representatives. They have briefed the President on the organization’s mission – to develop advanced bio-medical research programs and ensure high quality clinical assistance, focused on innovative scientific findings. The Foundation is one of the leaders in using scientific-technological innovations for diagnostics, prevention and treatment of diseases.
In 2010, to promote the development of bio-medical research activities, the Foundation opened the research facility, the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, which provides essential assistance, consultations and analysis to patients.
