The FINANCIAL — Public focus on healthcare has declined slightly since last week, following Mitch McConnell’s call for the Senate to move on from repealing and replacing Obamacare.
Despite this, healthcare still ranks as the top priority among Americans (23%), with interest especially high among Democrats (27%). Republicans also say healthcare is their top priority (18%), closely followed by terrorism (16%) and the economy (13%).
President Trump’s approval is now at 37%, up slightly from 35% last week. Trump has maintained steady support among three quarters of Republicans, with his job approval now at 77% with his base. There is little change in Trump’s detailed job approval, where he enjoys the most support for his handling of the US economy (43%), employment and jobs (44%) and dealing with ISIS/ISIL (46%).

After an especially dramatic week in Congress, overall approval of Congress remains at 22%. Even among Republicans, who control both the House and Senate, approval of Congress is low (28%). When asked about their Representative specifically, Americans are more forgiving, with 41% approving.
