The FINANCIAL — ProCredit Bank participated in the joint conference on responsible finance organized by the National Bank of Georgia, KfW Entwicklungsbank (the German Development Bank) and the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), held at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel on Thursday, November 11.
Sascha Ternes, Director of ProCredit Bank introduced a new client educational handbook jointly produced by ProCredit Bank Georgia and EFSE. The handbook aims to raise awareness and give advice to current and potential users of financial services in Georgia how to responsibly use the services offered by banks and microfinance institutions and make informed decisions. The handbook that will reach the general public via the bank’s extensive branch network as well as the Georgian printed media, is part of the bank’s two-month transparency campaign, also including educational lectures at Georgian universities and information evenings for the clients of ProCredit Bank.
The participants of the conference shared their experiences and reviewed approaches to dealing with concerns over responsible finance. In a panel discussion, senior Georgian policy makers, KfW and EFSE representatives, as well as other financial sector experts stressed the need to adapt responsible business practices in the financial sectors of Georgia and Southeast Europe.
