The FINANCIAL — In June 2018 the Producer Price Index (PPI) for Industrial Products decreased by 1.1 percent over May 2018 and increased by 6.8 percent compared to June 2017.
Prices for manufactured products decreased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month , resulting in a -1.03 percentage point contribution to the overall PPI change. There was a decrease in prices for food prod-ucts, beverages and tobacco (- 1.5 percent), basic metals and fabricated metal products (-4.1 percent), also for other non-metallic mineral products (-0.5 percent).
Prices decreased for the group of electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water (-0.4 percent), contributing -0.06 percentage points to the overall monthly index change.
The annual PPI rate was mainly affected by price changes for the following products:
Manufactured products: prices increased by 5.1 percent, contributing 4.22 percentage points to the overall annual index growth. There was an increase in prices for basic metals and fabricated metal products (13.5 percent) and for food products, beverages and tobacco (3.6 percent);
Electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water: prices increased by 14.6 percent and contributed 1.97 percentage points to the overall PPI change.
