Proservice, the country’s first web hosting company, has established a new venture, Cloud Solutions. The new company is built upon Proservice’s robust infrastructure and is currently undergoing testing, with the promise of offering genuine cloud solutions to a broader range of customers.
Revaz Natroshvili, the CEO of Proservice, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “These will be real cloud solutions for our customers, and not only.”
Proservice boasts a steady annual growth rate of 10-15%. The company currently serves over 19,000 active users and manages more than 17,000 domain names, with up to 6,500 websites hosted on its platform.
The company has been awarded the prestigious Golden Brand award for “Hosting Providers”.
Q. How do businesses in Georgia recognize the importance of a “secure online space” – the service that Proსervice offers them – to their success? What contributions has Proservice made to raise awareness in this area?
A. Larger businesses have certainly grasped the significance of this issue and are actively utilizing the relevant services. Unfortunately, many small entrepreneurs, who represent the majority, still do not make use of digital services. However, I can say that there has been noticeable growth.
Twenty to twenty-five years ago, when we started our business, there were only a few dozen websites for Georgian companies, and very few used email. Now the situation is different; almost everyone uses email for communication. The trend for websites is also improving, and we hope to see even more radical changes in the next ten years.
Q. According to your observations, what are the main mistakes that businesses in our country make regarding their online presence?
A. In my opinion, a significant issue is lack of competence. From the outside running a business might seem easy, but this misconception is prevalent across various fields. When a company becomes stable and successful, some people mistakenly believe they can achieve the same level without the necessary knowledge and effort. This is a mistaken approach that needs to be addressed.
Our employees, regardless of their experience, undergo continuous training to enhance their competence. Both technologies and strategies are constantly evolving. If you don’t keep up with these changes, you fall behind in meeting new trends and requirements.
Q. What do you think the main features that give Proservice a competitive advantage are?
A. Proservice celebrated its 26th anniversary this year. Our primary advantage is stability. Each year, several hosting companies start out while an equal number close. Many believe that entering this business is easy, but it comes with significant responsibilities, particularly regarding stable business processes. This industry requires a great deal of experience and accountability.
Over our 26 years, we have acquired seven-eight competing companies that opened and struggled to manage their processes within two-three years. By the end of 2024 we added another company to our portfolio. Most of those who joined us reached out to offer their assets, ensuring that their clients would not be harmed. These have been positive cases. Unfortunately, there are also instances where providers disappear, leaving their customers in difficult situations. So I advise anyone seeking critical services to choose a company that is stable and has a proven history.
Q. How do you imagine the role of artificial intelligence and automation in web design in the future?
A. Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in our lives. Some believe that in a year, the professions of web designer and programmer will no longer exist. I don’t share that view. Artificial intelligence should serve as an auxiliary tool, not a replacement. Humans are essential, and without personal interaction, project planning, and effective coordination, it can be challenging to achieve the desired results for clients. Yes, artificial intelligence can generate projects based on current design standards and programming languages, which can be beneficial in some instances. However, I believe this approach is not appropriate for every situation, so we should focus on helping our employees utilize these tools effectively, rather than replacing them.
Q. What motivates you to continue running Proservice, what are your goals, and what do you want to achieve by leading this company?
A. I believe the primary motivation for any business owner is the desire for business development. I’ve stated this before, and I will again: if you are not consistently focused on the growth of the company, adopting new technologies, and delivering products or services that meet customer needs, your business is likely to fail. Despite its challenges, I find our business very engaging. It requires a constant introduction of new ideas, which demands time and effort. As I mentioned, the process is incredibly interesting.
