The FINANCIAL — Qatar Executive, Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, has been honoured with the Best Business Aviation Operator of the Year 2015 award by the prestigious Middle East industry publication Aviation Business.
The Best Business Aviation Operator of the Year award is traditionally given to the company that consistently delivers world-class service and excels through key achievements and solid business strategies, according to Qatar Airways.
Qatar Executive, which also won the award in 2012 and was recognised as “Highly commended” in 2014, was honoured on this occasion for its remarkable growth in the past year, the significant boost of its aircraft management services, its geographical expansion into Asia and the completion of its new private jet terminal at Hamad International Airport, which is due to open at the end of the year. The year also marks the company’s ground-breaking order of up to 30 Gulfstream aircraft announced in May 2015.
Executive Vice President of Qatar Executive David Edwards received the award on behalf of Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker.
Mr Al Baker said: “To be recognised as the Best Business Aviation Operator of the Year is an outstanding achievement and a proud moment for the national airline’s business jet division Qatar Executive.
“The business aviation market is very competitive and there are important players across the region, so winning this award is a great honour and we will strive to keep raising the bar.”
Qatar Executive beat stiff competition during the awards evening in Dubai attended by leading figures from across the regional travel and aviation industry.
Qatar Airways is one of the few airlines in the world to provide a private jet service as part of its premium product portfolio and, since its inception just over six years ago, Qatar Executive has evolved into a leader in exclusive air charter services not just regionally, but worldwide.
Today, the company operates eight wholly-owned Bombardier private jets, comprising three Challenger 605s, two Global 5000s and a Global Express XRS – all featuring spacious cabins, the latter in a two-cabin configuration accommodating up to 13 passengers. In addition, Qatar Executive offers larger travel groups an all Premium Airbus A319, with capacity for 40 passengers.
