The FINANCIAL — Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), one of the leading providers of integrated wireless systems and services to transportation and logistics companies, and RAIR Technologies, LLC on October 17 announced their collaboration to enhance the value of Qualcomm Hours of Service (HOS) by offering more robust auditing and analysis of HOS data, which can be captured electronically or on paper.
The combination of Qualcomm’s Hours of Service and RAIR’s services provides customers the most complete and easy-to-use solution for managing and auditing driver logs.
Fleets using Qualcomm’s HOS now have more options to efficiently manage their compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) hours of service regulations. With this enhanced hours of service compliance offering, fleets can send their paper logs to RAIR, who scans and provides them back to the fleet with additional electronic data that can then be audited and compared to Qualcomm’s positioning data to ensure comprehensive hours of service compliance reporting. Leveraging both companies’ expertise, customers now can benefit from the visibility, auditing and reporting capability associated with electronic logs.
The RAIR solution is ideal for fleets using both electronic and paper logs as it can compare electronic positioning data provided by Qualcomm to data provided by drivers in their paper logs, thus adding an additional degree of accuracy to hours of service reporting. RAIR also can process DVIR information and support driver notification for violations, making the combination of RAIR’s service with Qualcomm’s Hours of Service the most complete solution to the complex auditing process.
“Our collaboration with RAIR, a leader in managing HOS compliance with paper or EOBR-generated logs, delivers enhanced value and options to our Hours of Service customers,” said Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “With safety and compliance top of mind for fleets of all sizes, this innovative solution helps assure visibility to accurate and complete information regarding driver hours of service.”
“RAIR is delighted to have been chosen by Qualcomm to provide our best-in-class log auditing services to complement Qualcomm’s Hours of Service,” stated JJ Singh, president and CEO of RAIR. “Our ability to work with and comprehensively audit paper logs, as well as logs generated by EOBRs, or any combination of the two, provides flexibility to carriers that helps make a seamless transition from paper logs to e-logs when they install EOBRs.”
