The FINANCIAL — Radisson Blu Iveria Hotela has new Food and Beverage Manager, Luke Wooley. Mr. Wooley says that the hotel will have many interesting offers for this autumn and winter. Together with good food and beverages and perfect service, hotel promises to offer nice atmosphere, interesting and exciting programs and unforgettable events.
According to Mr. Wooley, he has been leaving in Middle East for the past 10 years. He wanted to see another part of the world, experience a new culture and see exciting place like Georgia. Georgia appeared extremely interesting country for him. “Before I visited the country I was told that Georgians were very hospitable. People here like to host guests. Hospitality is a natural characteristic for Georgian people. They are very friendly,” He adds.
“My job consists of different aspects and one of them is to be able to do good degustation – Georgian Wine and Food exceeded my expectations. I like Georgian “Khachapuri” and Georgian “KhinkalI” very much. I was very surprised when I tasted Georgian Wine for the first time, yes I knew that it was country with big wine traditions, but I was not expecting such rich flavor. Georgian Wine is the thing what I would mark and advise to all my VIP guests,”Mr. Wooley says.
“I was born in England. I always wanted to have the work where I would have possibility to travel a lot. Hotel Business appeared the trail where I could do that. It is very interesting and exciting for me to get in touch with different cultures, different atmospheres, and different people. For example I’m living only for 3 month here in Georgia and I feel like for 3 years. People are very friendly here. From the beginning, from the entrance in Tbilisi National Airport a felt myself at home. Tbilisi is the place where you can be very comfortable have a lots of friends and be quite happy,” Wooley said.
“For this autumn we have a lot’s of Interesting offers in our Hotel. We are trying to offer not only good food, good beverages and perfect service to our guests, but also nice atmosphere, interesting and exciting programs and unforgettable events. Thinking out of the box is one of the main missions in our job, so we are trying to be more creative, to think more about the people, their need and expectations,”.
For this September only Radisson Blu Iveria hotel will offer its Guests most popular dish in Italy – “Spag Bol“.
“A couple of years ago over 500 Italian chefs took to the streets in protest in an attempt to restore the integrity of the world famous dish “Spag Bol” which has become twisted over the years. This month, exclusively at Filiini we celebrate this popular dish by conforming to the original 1982 recipe set down by the chamber of commerce in Bologna,” Wooley said.
“We have signed up a lot’s of Interesting offer for our guests in Oxygen Bar as well. Every Thursday and Thursday evenings we celebrate ladies night. Every lady receives 3 glasses of Champaign without any charge on those days,”Wooley states.
“We have “Sax in The City” event on every Friday and Saturday in Oxygen Bar, very interesting performance is provided by our in-house DJ and saxophone player on those nights. Event appeared very popular among our guests and we are keeping it already for 3 months. For October we celebrate in Filini Restaurant Italy’s world renowned cuisine as we take our guests on a culinary tour of Italy, featuring food from 6 regions of Italy. From modern days, to old classics and from north to south,” Wooley said.
People who like beer can celebrate Oktoberfest weekend in Oxygen bar. Radisson Blu Iveria guests will have opportunity to try beer from Germany and from all around the world, all paired with it culinary companion from the specific region. “They won’t need to travel this October, we bring the world to them,”Wooley adds.
“At the same time we will prepare delicious pastry selection at Surface bar, this comfortable bar is located just view steps away from the hotel lobby and is perfect venue for meeting up with friends and colleagues. In November is Fondue sharing month at Filini, tradition states that if you drop the food of the fork, you have to kiss the person next to you,” Wooley said.
“As the temperature drops outside in November, the atmosphere heats up in Oxygen with Mexican and Caribbean month. So samba away and guests can enjoy regional favourites such as flaming fajitas and tacos to chilled Majito’s and Pina Colada’s. At the same time, people can relax and unwind from busy day with a classic cognac and cigar – a great partner during November. Throughout the month, guests can take a sip from a glass of Hennessy V.S.O.P or X.O. while enjoying your favourite cohiba cigar from our humidor,”He adds.
“We have some interesting ideas for the December period also, including our winter wonderland and an extremely exciting programme to see out the year and welcome the new, you’ll just have to watch this space for that one,”.
As Mr. Wooley says, his second job in the hospitality industry was working on board on a cruise ship. “I had the opportunity to travel to many countries over 150 to be precise, and out of all the cuisine I’ve tasted, from the far corners of the globe, nothing quite beats a traditional English Sunday roast, roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings,”.
