The FINANCIAL — The Green Key is a global eco-certification for the leisure industry.
In order to gain Green Key certification, hotels have to fulfill a list of environmental requirements covering a wide range of criteria from environmental demands to demands on policy, availability of action plans, education and communication.
Obtaining the Green Key shows the sense of responsibility an organization has for its surroundings and society. The two Radisson Blu Hotels in Georgia established an ambitious plan to obtain the Green Key certificate and are implementing a range of environmental protection activities. Both Hotels set clear targets aimed at reducing the impact on the environment by saving water and electricity as well as pro-actively educating staff, guests and suppliers on the hotels responsible business practices.
Torbjörn Bodin, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Batumi said, "The fact that both our hotels in Georgia became Green Key certified so shortly after opening is a testament to our hard work and longstanding commitment to environmental practices and Responsible Business in general.”
“Our Responsible Business and green ethos is ingrained into our everyday operations. We are delighted that we are leading the way in this area in our country and that an independent third party such as Green Key recognize our ongoing efforts,” said Michael Jacobi, General Manager Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel.
