The FINANCIAL — The construction business, the second best developed sector in Georgia, turns out to have problems in regards to hiring qualified professionals in the field. That’s why the services of recruiters represented in the market are needed.
“In Georgia and the majority of CIS countries the construction business is regarded one of the best developed directions. The local market has a lack of professional staff, which is the reason why qualified personnel are so well-paid,” Michael Lelashvili, Managing Partner Brain Source International – Georgia (BSI), told The FINANCIAL.
As Lelashvili stated, competent candidates for some positions in the construction business are hard to find in Georgia and BSI refers to its international offices in such cases.
“The salary range is wide and depends on the particular company, its investment plans, projects and the level of positions,” claimed Lelashvili.
In Lelashvili’s words, annual salaries in the construction sector in Georgia and CIS countries range from USD 3,600 to USD 180,000, while the figure is double in Europe.
95% of the large developers and construction companies are BSI clients in Georgia, Ukraine and a number of European countries where the company is presented.
The BSI representative in Georgia is a Georgian juridical body – BSI Georgia. BSI also has official representations in: Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. In Georgia the company has been active since 2006.
“Long-term experience makes us capable of completing tasks with 100% success and finding the best professionals in the market,” noted Lelashvili.
“All international companies entering the Georgian market become BSI clients; the same can be said for every country we’re represented in. BSI is a reliable brand you can rely on in critical situations, we’re a guarantee of quality services,” added Lelashvili.
“In order to achieve such kinds of luxury projects dealt with proper professionalism we do become the clients of international recruiters in some cases,” Aidar Utelov, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), told The FINANCIAL.
“I don’t see many large international developers coming to Georgia sooner than the next 2-3 years as one of the most important signals for foreign investors to put money in to new markets is the guarantee of political stability. At the same time small to medium size companies are capitalizing on this gap. High real estate prices, which are caused mainly by low supply, help these companies in successful growth. To facilitate effective growth we use our expertise gained in other emerging markets of CEE and effectively apply it in Georgia. With next to none regional coverage (32 offices) we can offer our clients access to local top management talent as well as top executives from the region to fill key and sensitive positions within our client’s organization“ declared Irakli Kilasonia, Country Manager Georgia with Pedersen & Partners.
As Kilasonia noted, all the international developers who are Pedersen & Partners clients abroad, are fully satisfied with the high quality services offered by the company.
“I see huge prospect in Georgia in terms of construction development as well as the recruiting business in the country,” Ulrik Rasmussen, Head of Real Estate Practice, Pedersen & Partners, told The FINANCIAL.
In his words, people engaged in senior positions (country managers, investment managers) in the construction sector in Central and Eastern Europe have salaries of around EUR 20,000 a month.
Pedersen & Partners, one of the leading executive search firms in Central and Eastern Europe, announced the opening of its offices in Tbilisi in October 2007.
